Your May 31 packaging report, built from real data — not guesses.
If you sell packaged goods into Ontario, you owe a report of the packaging you supplied in 2025 — the weight of every material, for every product you sell. The EPR Data Desk builds that data for you: every SKU, every component, every weight, with the method written down. Your officer reviews it and files it. We never file for you.
Data preparation only · We never submit a filing · Not legal advice
Built for producers without a compliance department.
You sell packaged goods into Ontario
Food and drink, cosmetics and personal care, pet products, home goods, supplements — brands and importers whose packaging ends up in Ontario homes.
You're over the exemption line
The small-producer exemption covers businesses under two million dollars in gross Ontario revenue. Above that line, you report — and the report has to be built on real weights, not estimates.
You sell into more than one regime
Ontario, the other provinces and the federal Plastics Registry each want the same facts in a different shape. One clean data set, built once, feeds all of them.
Your current numbers live in a spreadsheet
Supplier emails, spec sheets and a workbook nobody fully trusts. That is the normal starting point — and exactly the gap this desk closes.
The dates that matter.
| Date | Where | What's due |
|---|---|---|
| May 15, 2026 | Yukon | Supply report for 2025. |
| May 31, 2026 | Ontario · Manitoba · New Brunswick · Nova Scotia | The 2025 supply-data report — packaging weights by material category — plus the annual program fee in Ontario. |
| June 30, 2026 | Alberta | Supply reports for 2025. |
| September 29, 2026 | Federal — Plastics Registry | Phase 1 report for 2025: packaging and single-use plastics into the residential stream, with your calculation method. |
| From 2027 | Ontario | Performance audits begin — the first cycle verifies 2024–2026 data. Calculation records and methodology must be kept, because they will be asked for. |
New producers must register with the regulator within 30 days of first supplying obligated material. Dates from the regulators' published program pages.
One clean data set, ready for every filing.
Step 1
Obligation & gap check
- Where you are obligated — provinces and federal — based on the published rules and your facts
- What you must file, and when
- A concrete list of the data you are missing
Step 2
Supply-data build
- A base table of every SKU and packaging component: weights by material category
- Where every weight came from — supplier spec or documented measurement
- Deductions documented, and a calculation file you keep for audit
Step 3
Filing-season support
- The submission package assembled for each deadline
- Your officer reviews, attests and submits — the legal responsibility stays with your business, by design
- Your own copy of the data and the audit file, always
Ongoing
Monthly data-ops
- New products and packaging changes logged as they happen
- Specs, weights and categories kept current
- Next May 31 becomes a non-event — and the audit file is never stale
What we never do.
We never submit a filing
Your officer attests and submits, every time. We build the file they sign off on — we don't sign.
We never give legal advice
We're a data-preparation service. Our checks cite the published regulations and guidelines; questions of law go to your lawyer.
We never invent a number
Every weight has a source or a documented method behind it. If a number can't be supported, it doesn't go in the file.
Your packaging data stays confidential, and the workbooks and audit file are your property.

What May 31 Actually Requires — one page, in plain language: who must file, what is due, the data you need, and what getting it wrong costs. Ask for it on the contact form — choose “EPR Data Desk” — and we'll email it to you. No call required.
Questions, answered.
Do you submit the report for us?
No — by design. Your officer reviews, attests and submits; the legal responsibility stays with your business, where the law puts it. We assemble everything they need, so filing is a review, not a project.
Is this legal advice?
No. We prepare data. Our obligation checks are built from the published regulation text and regulator guidance, and we show our sources; interpreting the law for your situation is your lawyer's job.
We're not registered yet. Can you still help?
Yes — that's the most common starting point. The gap check begins with where you're obligated and what you're missing, registration included.
Our producer responsibility organization offers reporting help. Why you?
PROs run the collection system and can submit reports for their members — but the SKU-level data still has to come from you. We build that data across every regime you sell into, and you keep the audit file either way.
